I have just added a list of suggested books (from the Fantasy genre). Have a good look at these if you have not read them. A more complete list can be found on my Official website on the “Reading Around” page. Some day when I get the time I would love to create a bit of a synopsis for the books I recommend.

Creating New Characters

One of the fruits of my break was the creation of new characters, which existed, but had not been fully created. It all started with the drawing of a map of where the characters live. Well, the map is supposed to be drawn by a character. Any ways, it is amazing how such a simple start - the map - leads to a whole new mini-world being created. Now the character’s background can be explored more fully and realized by visiting their home rather than a flashback or dialogue of the past.

The Joy of Returning to Writing

It’s so wonderful to start writing again! I have had a long break while I was busy working on my coursework. It is refreshing to revisit you work after standing away from it, and getting to know what you have written. Of course, in my break ideas still popped up and I wrote them on paper. Now it’s back to the keyboard.
