About Michael

I am an Architect with a keen interest in architectural history and the conservation of historic buildings. An appreciation of the historic can help inform an understanding of the contemporary and bring a strong approach to planning the future. As such I enjoy exploring historic sites: touring Great Britain and further abroad with a particular interest in ecclesiastical heritage. I enjoy reading and much to to with books and libraries in general. This has fostered an enjoyment of creative writing which has translated across to my architectural writing.

Art and music continue to influence my work and life. I maintain strong interests in drawing and photography, and enjoy throwing pottery and painting. I enjoy choral singing, a passion which began at school. Walking has been a continued interest and supports a more general interest in the natural environment. Other sporting interests include badminton, croquet, cycling and tennis. I enjoy wine tasting, local history and topography amongst other pursuits.
